Empire Continues Its Growth in Quebec and across Canada

of Montreal joins the Empire Group of companies
Montreal, May 23, 2007 -- Empire Maintenance Industries Inc., has reached an agreement to merge Advance Maintenance Services Inc. into its group of companies. This is the 3rd alliance in less than 2 years, after merging with Contact Building Services Inc. of Toronto, Ontario (February 2006) and Atlantic Building Cleaning Inc. & Novacos Building Cleaning Limited in Atlantic Canada (ABC Group, May 2005).
With this transaction, Empire becomes one of the leading Canadian private companies in commercial building and office tower cleaning and maintenance.
Empire President Mario Levasseur clearly expressed his company’s vision at the time of the announcement: “This 3rd merger proves once again Empire’s determination to be #1 in Canada. For our customers this means even greater expertise and the best possible service.” Mr. Levasseur also stated that Advance will continue to operate as a separate entity as well as becoming part of the Empire group of companies.
In May 2005, Empire acquired ABC Group, the largest group of cleaning and maintenance companies in Atlantic Canada. This acquisition raised Empire to first place among all cleaning and maintenance companies in Eastern Canada. In February 2006, Empire joined forces with Contact Building Services Inc. of Toronto, with the aim of broadening its services in Central and Western Canada.
Empire numbers more than 4,300 employees maintaining about 80 million square feet each day.
